Tour 2 – Rock around “The Rock” continues exactly where Tour 1 left off.

You’ll search for and learn about 14 wonderful art deco works of art located throughout and nearby magnificent Rockefeller Center and the 4 superb artists who created them.

You’ll encounter sculptural water spirits and saints in the full round and mythological beings; symbols of France, England and the United States; and many other colorful works carved in relief. While doing so, you’ll learn about and see beautiful examples of the different types of relief: intaglio, bas relief and high relief. Learning has never been so much fun.

You’ll explore a stainless steel sculptural group showing newsmen getting a scoop that weighs an amazing ten tons!
